Emma is a well-respected, established, educational leader and consultant in the education sector. She has over a decade of headship experience leading in challenging contexts, developing schools that move from special measures to good, showing rapid improvements that are sustained over time.
She has a proven track record in creating school cultures that put values at the heart of all practice through the meticulous transformation of professional expectations and cultural behaviour. There is clear evidence of the impact on practice and well-being of staff and pupils: "The outstanding leadership of the vision from the Headteacher has a major impact on relationships, aspirations and well-being...leadership and vision have led to phenomenal changes and improvement.” (SIAMs Inspector 2021)
As an education consultant Emma has worked across the country supporting schools and education organisations with a wide range of themes including self-evaluation, curriculum development , coaching and induction programmes.
She combines a wealth of knowledge, research and experience to develop effective behaviour management cultures in the most complex circumstances. Emma is experienced in the entire process of supporting and managing SEND in school. She has served on local authority panels for EHCPs and understands how to tailor bespoke provision in school for the most complex children.
As a servant leader Emma has employed transformative practices to create and grow leaders through coaching and strategically planned professional development. Her bespoke appraisal practice is both empowering and challenging, taking a values based approach to generating a culture of success in staff.
She is skilled at developing and utilising hard and soft data to ensure all learners meet their potential by empowering staff to understand which data to use and when. She has created a middle leadership development tool that empowers leaders to create a bespoke curriculum where they are in the driving seat of improvement and provision.
With a strong understanding of improvement in life chances for children in deprived contexts, she has a wealth of resources and expertise to help schools understand their context and look beyond the challenge to create aspiration for all pupils. The contexts in which she has worked also mean she is highly skilled in understanding the complexities of supporting families within the safeguarding arena and the importance of regular training for staff throughout school year.
Emma’s vast knowledge and experience has been honed into a toolkit to audit and assess a school’s current position and she can work closely with leaders to take this information to write and implement improvement plans. Her ability to assess and audit school practice rapidly and implement action plans is exemplary, from teaching and learning to environment and administration. Emma can provide advice on how to refine and improve all aspects of school administration and health and safety to allow everyone to focus on the core purpose of the school and manage well-being and workload.
She has extensive experience delivering training across the country to schools and conferences for over a decade.
Emma is currently a trustee for a multi academy trust and a local academy partner in Bury and sits on the NFWI Education Advisory Group.
